Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Yard Charts collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit yardcharts.com, use the web app at app.yardcharts.com, or receive our pattern alerts (together, the "Service").

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Yard Charts S.r.l.s, a company registered in Italy under registration n. RM-1459426 / Tax n. 13598341009 with its registered address at Via Tirso 90, Roma 00198 (Italy) ("Yard Charts", "we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. The data we collect

Data you give us

• Account data: your email address, password (stored only in hashed form), name if you provide it, and your chosen plan.
• Alert preferences: the tickers, markets, patterns and watchlists you select, and how you want alerts delivered.
• Payment data (paid plans only): billing name, billing address and transaction details. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider, Revolut, and are never stored by us.
• Messages: what you send us by email or through support forms.

Data collected automatically

• Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, features used, approximate location derived from the IP address, and dates and times of access.
• Alert delivery data: whether alert emails are delivered and opened, and links clicked.
• Cookies and similar technologies: see section 4.

Data from third parties

• Advertising platforms: if you reach us through an ad, Meta (Instagram, Facebook) may share aggregated campaign data with us, and we receive the campaign tags (UTM parameters) contained in the link you clicked.

We do not collect special categories of personal data, and we do not need your trading account, brokerage credentials or portfolio holdings to provide the Service.

3. How we use your data and why

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Our pattern alerts are automated analysis of market data, not of you, and they are not investment advice.

4. Cookies, the Meta Pixel and advertising

We use three kinds of cookies and similar technologies:

• Strictly necessary: keep you logged in, remember your cookie choices and protect against fraud. These are always on.
• Analytics: help us count visits and see which pages and features are used. Used only with your consent.
• Advertising: the Meta Pixel on yardcharts.com and app.yardcharts.com tells Meta when someone who saw our ads visits a page, signs up for a free plan, views pricing or buys a paid plan. This lets us measure our campaigns and build audiences for future ads. Used only with your consent.

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Analytics and advertising technologies, including the Meta Pixel, do not run until you accept. You can change your choice at any time through our cookie settings.

For the Meta Pixel, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd and Yard Charts are joint controllers for collecting and transmitting the data to Meta. Meta is then responsible for its own processing, described in Meta's Privacy Policy. You can also manage ad preferences in your Instagram and Facebook settings.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Service providers acting on our instructions: hosting and infrastructure (Erista), email delivery (Google), payments (Revolut) and analytics (Google Analytics). They may use the data only to provide their services to us, under data processing agreements.
• Advertising partners: Meta, as described in section 4, only if you have consented.
• Professional advisers: accountants, auditors and lawyers, under duties of confidentiality.
• Authorities: where required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
• A buyer or successor: if Yard Charts is sold, merged or restructured, subject to this policy.

International transfers. Some providers, including Meta and Revolut, may process data outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, for example in the United States. Where this happens we rely on an adequacy decision (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified companies) or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.

6. How long we keep your data

After these periods we delete the data or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
• restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
• object at any time to direct marketing;
• receive your data in a portable format and have it sent to another provider;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.

To exercise these rights, email info@yardcharts.com or use the settings in your account. We may ask you to verify your identity, and we reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the EU, the authority in your country or in Italy - Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it); in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

8. Users in the United Arab Emirates

If you use the Service from the UAE, we process your data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) as it applies to us. You have similar rights to those above, and you can exercise them through the same contact address.

9. Children

The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password. If a breach affects your data and creates a high risk to you, we will tell you without undue delay.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our Service or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and tell you by email or in the app if the changes are significant.
