Three lows under a river line, a breakout, a retest. On September 15, 2026, Yard Charts flagged a Bottom End Sweep on SEI with a buy at $0.041888 and a sell stop 5.4% below. Twelve days later SEI closed at $0.079.
ALERT Sep 15 (2026 · daily scan) · BUY $0.0419 (0.041888, at the river line) · SELL STOP $0.0396 (0.039627 · risk 5.4%) · SEP 27 CLOSE $0.079 (+89% in 12 days)
What the scanner saw
From late July SEI kept returning to the same level, about $0.042, and failing there: that horizontal is the river line, Line 1 of the pattern. Under it, three lows printed lower each time, $0.0413 on July 31, $0.0395 on August 12 and $0.0383 on August 18. Descending lows under a flat ceiling, with the drops slower than the recoveries, is the shape the scanner calls a Bottom End Sweep.
On August 19–21 price broke above the river line and ran to about $0.048, with a high of $0.051 on August 22. Then it did what the pattern needs for confirmation: it came back. Five weeks of sideways trade between $0.043 and $0.052 ended on September 15 with a close near $0.042, right on the line. That retest triggered the alert: buy $0.041888, sell stop $0.039627.
What happened
The retest held: the low on September 16 was $0.0412, 1.6% under the buy, and the stop, 5.4% below it, was never approached. Then came seven green sessions in a row. SEI closed at $0.0481 on September 18, $0.0593 on September 21 and $0.0748 on September 25, and on September 27 closed at $0.0790, 89% above the buy level. The intraday high came the next day, at $0.0866.
October gave part of it back. By October 19 the price was $0.0608, still 45% above the buy and well above the river line that started the move.
Why the stop sat where it did
The sell stop at $0.039627 sits just below the river line and above the August 18 sweep low. That is the pattern's own invalidation: if price had closed back under the line after the retest, the setup would have been wrong and the position gone for 5.4%. It did not need to be tested. Entering at the retest, close to the stop, is what made the reward 16 times the risk.
Context helped. SEI is a Layer-1 blockchain built for decentralised finance and high-frequency trading, and the alert carried a liquidity value of 625, high enough for resting orders to fill without slippage. See the quote on CoinGecko.
Lessons for traders
Lessons
- The breakout is not the entry; the retest is. The alert came five weeks after the breakout, when price returned to the river line.
- Descending lows under a flat line are a sweep, not a breakdown. Each dip below $0.042 was bought faster than it was sold.
- A tight stop makes the maths. 5.4% of risk against an 89% move is a trade you can afford to be wrong on many times.
- Resting orders at the level. An order at $0.041888 filled on September 15–16 without chasing the first green candle.
Final thoughts
The SEI alert is a clean textbook case of the Bottom End Sweep: three lower lows under a ceiling, a breakout, a quiet retest, then the move. Learn how the Bottom End Sweep works.
